2nd Influence:

Truman became president in the most critical time in American History. Truman was only vice-president for only 83 days when President Roosevelt died on April 12, 1945. His first year of presidency was marked by the dropping of the atomic bomb and the end of World War II. As president Truman established a reputation for personal honesty that overcame the negative implications. Truman made hard decisions especially since he wasn’t president for very long. He was a very controversial president with many friends.
